The Scientific College of Design is established on the belief that the arts are an integral part of our social consciousness, and a powerful catalyst in molding the thoughts and actions of our national and global communities, and that design is both an art and a science. The college founders uphold the philosophy that design is both and art and a science whereby to create art is to engage in design and that meaningful design is based upon a scientific foundation. The Scientific College of Design established its educational philosophy, standards and programs on a liberal arts model of higher education. As such, the college offers a holistic education balancing formal design study with a broad exposure to humanities, literature, and social sciences.

To honor its commitment to excellence in higher education, the college has sought an academic association with the Lebanese American University and the Arab Community College in Jordan.

As the college is about to end its third year of operation, it continues to endeavor to assemble a diverse and rich body of creative students and distinguished faculty, to foster an atmosphere of open and free exchange of ideas, and to encourage innovative and interdisciplinary teaching approaches. Seminal to this learning experience, is a collegial environment that cultivates creativity and facilitates the acquisition of knowledge. The new campus of the Scientific College of Design in the Airport Heights opened its gates in October, 2007. This new building features state-of-the-art facilities such as multi-use studios and audio/visually equipped classrooms.

The Scientific College of Design fervently advocates creativity as a vital prerequisite for enriching modern culture of a nation. Grounded in this belief, the college intends to play a leading role in preparing the next generation of regional academicians and professionals in the fields of Art and Design who can contribute to the advancement of local and international culture.
