DESCRIPTION
Graphic Design is the process of visually communicating
ideas and information through the use of words and images in printed,
environmental and electronic formats. Duties of the graphic designer include
poster design, information graphics, visual identity, packaging, web design,
information systems, and animation.
The college offers two tracks for the study of graphic
design: printing design and digital design whereby students can choose
their area of focus at the end of their junior year.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
The Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design embraces a
multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach to the investigation of this
specialization. The college’s unique curriculum interweaves works
in studios, theoretical courses, and practical studies to provide students
with a solid creative, artistic, and intellectual foundation.
The Preparatory and Design Foundation Programs build
a range of analytical, formal, sensory, and technical design experiences
along with an emphasis on a thorough understanding of the design process,
structure, materials, and techniques.
Sophomores begin to explore theoretical and historical
views of design, develop their own drawing skills, and conceptual thinking.
Juniors focus on typography and advanced graphic design
projects which develop a strong understanding of how visual communication
can effectively express content, message, and information.
Seniors on the design track concentrate on 2D visual
communication and advertising design, while the digital track emphasizes
3D animation techniques, motion design, and interactive design.
