The Scientific College of Design quality assurance mission is to contribute to the world through the pursuit of education, learning, and research at the highest levels of excellence. Our core value focuses on high quality education across our special programs and specializations. The Scientific College of Design quality assurance and enhancement unit sets the guidelines and procedures for the institution and closely monitors the delivery & cognitive standards at the college, to enhance the teaching activities, delivery methodologies, techniques and cognition. The unit conducts comprehensive research on education guided by intuitive planning, innovation and advanced technologies.

 

The SCD Quality Assurance and Enhancement Unit is accountable for the quality and standards of the College programs and is required to participate in the activities of different Quality Assurance organizations such as the Omani Accreditation Council and various professional and regulatory bodies, including the ministry of higher education. Moreover, while accreditation is an essential matter for the college, our policy mandates that we maintain a progressive approach in enhancing teaching, learning and assessment activities rather than being driven by external quality assessment bodies.

 

The college quality assurance vision for improving quality in teaching and learning are designed to reflect:

  • the College performance and contribution to the world community; 
  • our academic commitment to our staff and students in an environment that is supportive and participative rather than directive and managerial;
  • the responsibility given to our faculty and departments for developing and overseeing their own quality assurance procedures;
  • our ability to empower both teachers and students to compete for higher performance, inspire others to become distinguished and help build successful leaders in a global economy. 
  • a positively charged environment that sets new perimeters for higher education, interactive learning programs and professional academia.
