The College Placement Exam is a diagnostic tool that measures the student’s overall academic competence and assesses aptitude and readiness for pursuing higher education. Applicants to the B.A. & B.S. programs are required to sit for the College Placement Exam in English and Computer Skills.
While there is no passing grade, the exam primarily appraises the students’ proficiency in English as a prerequisite for the pursuit of all academic programs. On the basis of the English exam scores, students are required to spend from one and up to a maximum of three semesters in a focused study of English in order to adequately prepared to commence their academic programs.
The College Placement Exam equally helps to situate students in their respective ranks in the Preparatory Program and to exempt or transfer courses. Students may be exempted from the Intensive English Program while enrolled in the Preparatory Program if they have earned a score of 500 and above on the TOEFL exam (paper based).
